Terms of Sale for Smitty's Furniture

Space Requirements Verify all your product specifications to the requirements and openings in your home and product site. Specifications are for planning purposes only and subject to change by the manufacturer without notice. Smitty's will not be responsible for products that do not fit or that cannot be installed due to site limitations. We offer a free check measure service to ensure a successful delivery, please ask your sales consultant for details.

Online Orders Items displayed online may not be exactly as shown in the showroom. Fabric choices may be shown differently in our showroom than as pictured on our website. It is the responsibility of the customer to review products purchased with a sales consultant when the order is confirmed. All items are subject to prior sale. Pricing is based on items as displayed in our showroom and is subject to change or correction.

Scheduling Your Delivery Once your product has arrived at our warehouse, our Delivery Department will contact you to schedule your delivery. On the business day prior to delivery, we will contact you again for final confirmation and to notify you of an estimated two‑hour delivery window. We do not deliver on Sundays or Mondays. You will have 30 days to schedule a delivery or arrange pickup once your merchandise has been received in our warehouse. As a value‑added service, we will provide an additional 60 days of storage, providing your contract balance is paid in full. In the event you are unable to accept delivery by the end of the 90‑day period, long‑term storage fees will apply.

Preparing for Your Delivery Ahead of delivery, please ensure the area where the product is to be placed is clear of obstructions and that the walkway and driveway are cleared of snow in winter. Ensure any items to be removed are easily accessible, and where applicable, disconnected (see terms for removal of appliances).

Best Sale Price Guarantee

At Smitty’s, we want your shopping experience to be worry-free. That’s why we proudly offer our Best Sale Price Guarantee.

If you find a lower price on the same product within 30 days of your purchase — including prices advertised by Smitty’s — we’ll issue you in-store credit for the difference, which you can apply toward your next purchase.

How It Works

To claim your price guarantee, simply show your sales associate acceptable proof of the lower price. We accept live website pricing, written pricing on competitor paperwork, or advertised printed pricing. Please note that handwritten prices, emails, or website screenshots are not accepted. Once verified, we’ll provide you with in-store credit equal to the price difference, redeemable on your next purchase at Smitty’s.

Conditions of Price Matching

  • Products must be within Smitty’s regular delivery area.
  • Products must be identical in manufacturer, model number, and fabric/finish grade.
  • Prices must be listed in Canadian dollars.
  • For appliances: the item must be in stock, available at the advertised price, and covered by manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Price matching excludes:
    • Clearance Items
    • Liquidation Sales
    • “Limited Quantity” or “Limited Time Offers”
  • Online pricing is based on items as displayed in our showroom and is subject to change or correction.

Red Carpet Delivery at Smitty's

We go beyond basic delivery. With Red Carpet Delivery, our skilled team does the heavy lifting and handles the details so you can relax and enjoy your new furniture.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Placement & Setup - We bring your furniture inside, place it where you want it based on your guidance, and complete small setup tasks (like attaching hardware or connecting recliner power).
  • Packaging Removal - All boxes, wrapping, and debris are removed and recycled, leaving your home clean.
  • Old Item Removal - We will move old items to the curb for free on a one for one basis with your new delivery. Within the Hanover showroom’s local delivery area, we can remove your old furniture for a small fee.
  • One-Year Service Guarantee -If something isn’t right, our technician will come to your home free of charge to make it right.

Removal of Appliances The removal of an old appliance is on a one‑for‑one basis, at the time of delivery. If you would like an existing appliance removed, the pieces must be disconnected and/or drained. Old appliances will be removed if they are reasonably clean and if it is safe to do so. A damage waiver must be signed. Additional charges apply and services must be noted on invoice at the time of sale. Smitty's reserves the right to refuse this service at time of delivery if deemed unsafe and service charge will be refunded.

Delivery of Outdoor Appliances Assembly services are available for BBQs or smokers and can be arranged at point of sale. Free delivery is available for products left in their original packaging and will be made to the doorstep or garage. Our delivery team will not hook up or install connections to outdoor natural gas, electrical, or propane connections.

Return & Cancellations

In‑Stock Products A restocking fee (minimum 25% of purchase price) will apply to products authorized for return. All units requested to be returned to Smitty's must be in new condition and remain in original packaging (if delivered in original packaging), within 7 days of delivery or pick‑up.

Special Orders Special orders cancelled after production begins by the manufacturer, or after delivery to the customer (in good condition), are subject to a 50% re‑stocking fee. Smitty's reserves the right to decline returns of special ordered product.

Mattresses Mattresses that are sold with a mattress pad include a 30‑day "Mattress Comfort Guarantee". We will accept a return of the mattress for a credit toward the re‑selection of another mattress of equal or greater value as long as the mattress pad was used at all times. Refer to additional detail provided under the Mattress Comfort Guarantee information sheet available at time of sale.

Non‑Refundable Items All products marked "Final Sale" or "As Is" are non‑refundable as well as mattress pads, pillows, and yardage. Other services such as delivery charges, third‑party protection plans, extended warranty fees, are non‑refundable.

Financing Fees Financed purchases are subject to cancellation charges of 2.99% - 8.99% in addition to any re-stocking fees which may apply. The cancellation charges are based on the total financed portion of the transaction.

Defective/Damaged Products

Furniture If the product is damaged, you have the right to refuse the delivery. We will contact you to schedule another delivery. If you determine the product is defective upon arrival, please notify our Service team of the problem within 48 hours of receiving goods. Most of our furniture products include a one‑year parts and labor warranty and will be taken care of by our Service Department. Please call 1-800-265-5533 ext. 4 or email service@smittysfurniture.com to register your request for service. We will schedule a service appointment within approximately five days of the issue being reported. We reserve the right to inspect, touch up, or repair an item before authorizing an exchange.

Appliances & Outdoor Appliances Purchaser must inspect every product at time of delivery or pick‑up. If a product is defective or damaged at such time, product must be refused and will be repaired or replaced in accordance with manufacturer warranties and policies. All delivery‑related issues must be reported & noted at time of delivery. If you notice damage to appliances and / or outdoor appliances it must be reported directly to the manufacturer within 48 hours of delivery.

Warranties

Warranties on Furniture Smitty's Furniture warranties all furniture, in residential use and still within our regular delivery area, against manufacturer's defect for one year, covering parts and labor. Professional repair, replacement, or refund is at the discretion of Smitty's Furniture. Specifications and quality standards established by the manufacturer could vary. We honor manufacturer's warranties for longer than one year and will repair, replace, or refund as directed by the manufacturer. After one year there will be a charge for the service call and transportation of the product (if required) as determined by our Service Department. For products manufactured outside of Ontario, Smitty's reserves the right to have these products repaired instead of returned. Furniture sold from the Unloading Dock includes a 90‑day parts and labor warranty on defective products.

Exclusions on Furniture Warranty No warranty is extended to normal wear, everyday soilage, fading, or pilling of fabrics, damage due to negligence, misuse, accident, or the result of the customer's own transportation. Products outside our regular delivery area must be brought back to the nearest store or our warehouse by the customer. The customer is aware that Smitty's Furniture offers for sale an extended furniture protection program, from a 3rd party provider, to protect merchandise beyond the manufacturer's warranty, and has made their own choice to accept or decline this offer. Products sold marked "As Is" or "Final Sale" do not include a warranty.

Warranties on Appliances & Outdoor Appliances Most of our large appliances come with a one‑year warranty on parts and labor (small appliances are typically up to 90 days unless otherwise stated). Outdoor appliances may include a longer warranty period. The customer is aware that any warranty claims on appliances, including outdoor appliances, are to be made directly with the manufacturer. The customer is aware that Smitty's Furniture offers extended warranty plans for up to a total of 5 years of major appliances and has made their choice to accept or decline this offer.

Deposits & Final Payment

A non‑refundable 50% deposit is required on Special Order products. Orders must be paid in full 3 days prior to delivery or the delivery will be rescheduled to the next available opening.

Financing Payment options through Affirm Canada Holdings Ltd. (“Affirm”). Your rate will be up to 0% - 31.99% APR (where available and subject to provincial regulatory limitations). APR offered is based on creditworthiness and subject to an eligibility check. Payment options depend on your purchase amount and payment option terms will be shown at in-store checkout. A down payment (or a payment due today) may be required. Minimum purchase amounts may apply from $500 - $1700. The maximum amount available on financing is $10,000 including taxes. The requirements to use Affirm are:

  • To be the legal age of majority in the province or territory in which you reside
  • To be a resident of Canada
  • A Canadian bank account or Visa/Mastercard debit card (Your debit card must have the Visa or Mastercard logo). Available payment methods may vary depending on the payment plan selected
  • A SMS-capable Canadian phone number and an email address
  • To meet the minimum purchase amount requirement set by Affirm
